I firmly believe that understanding finances empowers individuals to effectively manage their personal funds, inspiring those who aspire to be entrepreneurs or achieve financial success.
Let me share a bit of my journey. I grew up learning to navigate life with limited means. Pursuing a business management education was my strategy to grasp the workings of commerce, aspiring to become a successful businesswoman and attain wealth. However, upon completing my studies, I realized that achieving riches relied heavily on owning a multi-million-dollar enterprise. Given my background where my family knew only of employment, the idea of amassing such wealth seemed unattainable. Consequently, I temporarily set aside my dreams and engaged in managing other people's businesses to glean insights. However, it dawned on me that the more I managed these businesses, the wealthier the owners became. I sensed a significant gap in my understanding. This realization led me to delve deeper into business studies, merging crucial aspects such as accounting and finance. I pursued online finance courses, aiming not just to apply this knowledge in business but also in personal financial decision-making. The foundational ideas were present, yet the direct link between financial concepts and personal circumstances remained elusive. It was through this journey that I discovered alternative avenues for generating wealth without requiring substantial capital – investing. My understanding expanded to encompass diverse investment routes: real estate, insurance, existing businesses, stocks, mutual funds, bonds, and other securities.
Practically speaking, investments demand initial capital. To align my personal finances with this notion, I applied accounting principles, emphasizing cost-cutting and budgeting. Initially challenging, adjusting my spending habits to fit within a budget was tough, but eventually became a habit. Witnessing progress in my financial landscape, I found that the hard work and discipline were truly worthwhile. Seeing potential millions sprout from hundreds of thousands in investments over 5-10 years validated the sacrifices made by forgoing certain desires. Drawing closer to one's aspirations becomes a daily motivator, shaping each day with purpose.
